This studio course introduces students to the fundamentals of color and painting. Students will begin to build a strong foundation in painting through an exploration of watercolor, acrylic, and gouache. Students will work on both canvas panels and heavy mixed-media paper while learning the basics of color theory, blending, brushwork, and paint application. This introductory class is designed to give students a well-rounded understanding of painting techniques and materials while strengthening the skills they can carry into their future artwork.CREATIVE FOUNDATIONS

Additionally, weekly classes are being extended to 2.5 hours during which time, students will have 30 minute warm ups at the top of class dedicated to journal/sketch book entries that will inspire the works of the day. 36 Week Series, 6 week sessions 1. Community Mural and Showcase Daytime Art Enrichment is an inspiring program designed to enhance your child’s education through the world of creative fine arts. Tailored for students learning from home, this well-rounded experience integrates art making with a strong foundation in art history and the essential art elements and principles of design. Students will explore a wide variety of artistic mediums and techniques such as painting, drawing, sculpture, and mixed media while also learning about influential artists, major art movements, and the building blocks of visual expression. This approach encourages art literacy, creativity, self-expression, and skill development in a supportive, engaging environment perfect for nurturing critical thinking, artistic confidence, and personal growth. Please come dressed in clothes you are comfortable getting messy. Bring a water bottle.
